Zovy exists to give you a calmer relationship with your screens — not to monetize your attention. We collect the minimum we need to run the product, we never sell your data, we show no ads, and you can export or permanently delete everything yourself, any time, from Settings.

If you join the waitlist (zovy.app): your email, first name, and the answers you choose to give (who Zovy is for, your goals, your devices). We also look up your country from your IP address — the country name only, which we store so we know where to launch first. Your IP address itself is not stored by us.

If you create an account (app.zovy.app): your email and name (from your Google account or your signup form), and the things you create in the product — limits, focus modes, focus sessions, categories, and family setup (members, rules, messages, time requests).

Once you connect a device or browser extension: the screen-time data it reports — app or site names and durations. This is the whole point of the product, and it is only ever visible to you (and, for children in a family, to their parents).

We use no advertising or analytics trackers. What we do store in your browser:

• zovy-theme — remembers light or dark mode.
• zovy-country — caches the country lookup so we only ask once.
• Supabase auth session — keeps you signed in to app.zovy.app.
• In the Chrome extension: a local usage buffer, the 18+ filter's state, and cached site verdicts (see “The Chrome extension” below).

Your data is stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider) and served through Cloudflare. If you sign in with Google, Google confirms your identity to us. The waitlist country lookup uses ipapi.co. Transactional email (password resets, confirmations) is delivered by our email provider. These providers process data on our behalf; none of them may use it for their own purposes.

The Zovy browser extension is how screen-time tracking and blocking actually happen in Chrome. To do its job it asks for broad browser access, and we want to be upfront about exactly what that means:

• Tabs & host access (all sites): the extension reads the address of the page in your focused tab to measure time per site and to enforce the limits, focus modes, and blocks you set. Only the domain name and duration are ever sent to your account — never page contents, form data, or full URLs.
• 18+ content filter (optional, off by default): when you turn it on, the extension checks each site you visit against Cloudflare's family DNS resolver over an encrypted connection (DNS-over-HTTPS). Only the domain name is sent, only to Cloudflare, and only while the filter is on. Verdicts are cached locally so most checks never leave your device. Cloudflare does not receive your identity, and we never see your browsing history.
• Local storage: the extension keeps a short usage buffer, the filter's on/off state, and cached site verdicts in the browser's own storage — so it keeps working offline and syncs when you're back online.

Tracking is only ever of your own browsing, tied to your own account under the same per-user protection as the rest of Zovy. In a family, a parent can lock the 18+ filter on for a child; otherwise it is entirely your choice, and turning it off is always available to you (with a short cool-down to keep it a deliberate decision).

Family features are parent-managed by design: a parent creates the family, sets budgets and bedtimes, and holds the PIN. A child's account shows the child their own remaining time and lets them message their family and request more time. A child's screen-time data is visible only to that child and the parents in their family — never to anyone else.

Everything is self-service in Settings on app.zovy.app:

• Export — download every row we hold about you as one JSON file.
• Delete — permanently erase your account and all of its data. This is immediate and irreversible, and includes any family you own.

For anything else — questions, corrections, or waitlist removal — email [email protected] and a human will sort it out.
